The Council's Scholarship Fund

Overview:

The US-GCC Development Council is proud to introduce its Annual Scholarship Fund, designed to support the next generation of leaders who are passionate about strengthening the ties between the United States and the Gulf Cooperation Council. Recognizing the transformative power of education and the role of academic institutions in nurturing global leaders, this scholarship aims to financially assist deserving students studying in American universities, both within the US and their respective GCC campus locations.

Eligibility Criteria:

  1. Citizenship: Applicants must be citizens of a GCC member state (Bahrain, Kuwait, Oman, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, or the United Arab Emirates).

  2. Educational Institution: Candidates must be enrolled in an accredited American university, either based in the US or its campus locations within the GCC.

  3. Academic Performance: A consistent track record of academic excellence with a minimum GPA of 3.5 or equivalent.

  4. Field of Study: Preference will be given to those pursuing degrees in International Relations, Business, Law, Cultural Studies, or other fields that align with the council’s mission of promoting US-GCC relations.

  5. Career Aspiration: A demonstrated interest in pursuing a career involving the US and the GCC, evidenced by internships, research projects, or relevant extracurricular activities.

 

Scholarship Benefits:

  • Financial Award: The selected scholars will receive a generous financial award to cover tuition, books, and/or related academic expenses.

  • Mentorship: Scholars will be paired with a mentor from the US-GCC Development Council, offering guidance, career advice, and valuable networking opportunities.

  • Internship Opportunities: Priority consideration for internships within the council or its partner organizations.

  • Workshops and Conferences: Exclusive access to workshops, seminars, and conferences organized by the council, providing a platform for deeper engagement and understanding of US-GCC relations.

 

Application Process:​

  1. Online Application: Complete the online application form available on the council’s website.

  2. Personal Statement: A 500-word essay detailing the applicant’s interest in US-GCC relations and how the scholarship will assist in achieving their career goals.

  3. Academic Transcripts: Latest transcripts reflecting the applicant’s academic performance.

  4. Resume/CV: Detailing academic achievements, internships, research projects, and extracurricular activities.

 

Deadline: The application deadline for this year's scholarship is June 30, 2023. Applicants will be notified by July 31, 2023. Please check for updates as to the deadlines for future academic years.
